My name is Rachel Wada, and I am a Vancouver-based freelance illustrator.
Before calling Vancouver home, I was born in my mother’s hometown of Hamamatsu, Japan and moved to my father’s hometown of Hong Kong at a young age.
I hold a BFA in Illustration from Emily Carr University of Art & Design. Since graduating in 2016, I’ve had the opportunity to work on many fun and exciting projects in picture books, editorial and commercial projects, and even murals.
I love bringing ideas and stories to life through art. When I’m not drawing, I love to spend time in the kitchen making matcha lattes and trying out new recipes or enjoy the outdoors on a run.
